Getting Started
How do I create a Proofy account?
Create your account, sign in to the dashboard, and choose the verification workflow you need.
Is Proofy free?
You can use the Free Email Checker for one-off checks. New users can also start with 5,000 verification credits for $5 to test bulk verification or API workflows.
What can I verify?
Proofy supports single-address checks, uploaded CSV or TXT lists, and API-based verification for forms, apps, CRMs, and automated workflows.
Email Verification
What results does Proofy return?
Primary statuses include Valid, Invalid, Risky, and Unknown. Additional signals can identify catch-all, disposable, role-based, and other address conditions.
Does Proofy send an email to the address being checked?
No. Verification uses technical signals such as syntax, domain, MX, mail-server, and mailbox-level responses without sending a real message.
What should I do with Risky or Unknown results?
Review them separately instead of automatically treating them as Valid. Catch-all and restricted mail servers can limit mailbox-level certainty.
Bulk Verification
What files can I upload?
Bulk verification supports CSV and TXT files.
How large can a bulk file be?
You can upload files up to 65 MB and process up to 1 million email addresses in a single file.
Can I customize my export?
Yes. Proofy supports advanced export options so you can choose which verification fields and result categories you want included in the downloaded file.
Where can I learn more?
See the Bulk Email Verification page for the full workflow and current options.
API & Integrations
Does Proofy have an API?
Yes. Proofy provides a REST API for real-time and automated verification workflows, including forms, applications, CRMs, and backend services.
Where is the API documentation?
Use the Proofy API documentation for authentication, endpoints, request formats, responses, and implementation examples.
Which programming languages can I use?
The REST API is language-agnostic. You can integrate Proofy from any programming language or platform that can send HTTPS requests.
Where can I see the API product page?
See Email Verification API for product-level features and use cases.
Credits & Billing
How can I buy credits?
You can choose pay-as-you-go credits or a subscription plan, depending on how often and how much you verify.
Do larger packages cost less per verification?
Yes. Higher-volume packages have a lower per-credit price. Current package options are listed on the Pricing page.
Can I cancel a subscription?
Yes. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, and you can choose a different package based on your verification volume.
Do Proofy credits expire?
No. Proofy credits do not expire, so unused credits remain available for future verification.
Is there a starter package?
New users can start with 5,000 verification credits for $5.
Data & Privacy
Does Proofy sell uploaded email lists?
No. Proofy does not sell uploaded email lists. Data handling is governed by Proofy's Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, GDPR information, and Data Processing Agreement.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete uploaded data yourself through the service. Verification data is also automatically removed after 60 days, subject to applicable legal requirements.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. You can delete your account when you no longer need the service. If you need help, contact support@proofy.io.
How long is verification data retained?
Proofy's current Data Processing Agreement states that personal data and verification results are retained for up to 60 days unless a longer period is legally required.
